Bucky Beaver

I have a confession. Above is the picture of the beautiful wood crib Ethan sleeps in every night. The striped bedding and gingham coordinating sheet provide the perfect touch. However, the quilt is covering my child's quiet obsession: teething on the side of the crib!!!!!! Oh well...teething is almost over...right???!!!

Stark/Fogle Wedding

David and Trina's wedding this past week end went very smoothly! Timmy has a kidney stone (and has had since October 2) and was unable to travel. So, Noah, Ethan and I loaded up and headed to Kentucky. First stop: Poppa and Nanna's house for Nanna to ride with the wild boys. We headed to Bardstown for a week end of memories!

The cousins...so handsome!Isn't Daddy so adorable in his robes??!!

Trina, Bella and Ava

The happy couple...no wait, just Daddy and Susan!

Ethan's First Hair Cut

Now that Ethan is one, my hairdresser will finally cut his hair. For the past several months, I must admit that Ethan has been sporting a mullet (business in the front. party in the back). I knew it was really bad when Ethan's own Nanna asked if I was going to have it cut before David and Trina's wedding ceremony! Needless to say, as soon as he had his birthday, all the boys headed to Ms. Destiny's to have their hair cut. Ethan did very well...just a little squirming. Noah, however, hates to have his hair cut. We have to drag him in the chair and make him sit up. When it gets to the part where Ms. Destiny has to shave the back of his neck, it is over for us. Noah is very ticklish there and cannot sit still for her to do this. Enjoy the pics!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, ETHAN!

I cannot believe I am typing these words..."Happy 1st Birthday, Ethan!" Has it been a year already? This celebration is bittersweet...I am happy for your first year of life, yet sad for a year closer to you being grown. After reading a post on a good friend's blog this morning, I cannot help but reflect on my own feelings of my children growing up. I have had a difficult time with Noah going to preschool because I constantly wonder about the influence others are having on my child...as well as the influence he has on others. What is he doing...what is he saying...what is he being taught...are the children and teachers being nice to him...is he being nice to the children and teachers? I think of these things constantly and even have his schedule posted next to my computer screen, so I can know hour-by-hour what my child is doing. I worry about the things I know both Noah and Ethan are going to have to go through as they grow up and it absolutely positively terrifies me! So, yes, I am glad Ethan has turned 1, but I am also sad that this year has flown by so quickly. My infant has turned in to a toddler...walking more than he is crawling. Following his big brother everywhere. It melts my heart to see the look on Ethan's face and the GLEE he shows by thrusting his whole body towards Noah first thing in the morning, and then after both naps. The bond these two have already amazes me. The fact that they play with each other and have fun amazes me. The phrase "monkey see, monkey do" comes to mind every time Noah hollers his high pitched squeal just to hear Ethan follow 2 seconds later with a high pitched squeal of his own...followed by a fit of giggles...and over and over they go! I love it.

So...happy birthday Ethan! I love you so much!

GAME DAY!

Timmy and I got to go to the Tennessee vs. Florida football game this week end. We took the boys for a fun week end at Poppa and Nanna's in Kentucky and we were off to Knoxville! Here are several pictures of the game. We were sitting in the end zone on the 3rd row so we had an awesome view of the game! After the game, we got our picture made with Al Wilson. What a highlight!!! We had a very relaxing and fun week end, but are glad to be back at home with our boys! Smokey
